I made an impulse buy, and bought this parts kit simply because the condition was immaculate. It was a law enforcement destruction, so no frame. The condition looks so good, that it makes me wonder whether it was re-nickled, or just really well preserved. Barrel is 5.5"

Serial number on the barrel and cylinder is 106991, (although the yoke # is 28782)

Any help on what this is would be appreciated2025-09-14_12-15-27_521.webp

Looks to be a .38 Military & Police of 1905, 2nd change from 1906 to 1909. It appears to have been refinished in nickel, as the hammer is plated which was not done at the factory. All the parts seem to be there and in good shape. The best thing are the stocks, possible worth what was paid for the kit. Are all the s/n matching? The yoke number is not a serial number, s/n should be on the back face of the cylinder, the bottom flat on the barrel, and a few other places, and the back of the right stock.

The right stock has the matching serial number, but its hand written, not stamped.
