MP15 .300 blackout barrel diameter question.

I just ordered an mp15 in .300 blk with a +2 months of ETA.
My intention is to put a troy alpha rail on it, so I have to change the huge railed gas block, with a low profile one.
My question is, what diameter gas block do I need? What is the outside diameter of the .300 barrel?

Thanks to the member Streaker, he was very helpful.
In case anyone needs it, the barrel diameter is 0.750".

Now I can start ordering the parts, I will post pictures of the process.

Hi! I'm just curious why you're changing the gas block. Just last week I got a M&P15OR too.

I want to put a 13" or 15" (not sure yet) Troy alpha rail, and the original gas block is to big to fit under it.

The 13 troy rail is nice, I just put one on my Spikes Tac. upper setup I just build.

I see. I'm getting a 7" free float rail. I didn't even know you could get a longer one.
