SLEEP SAFE AT NIGHT

Mossberg 930 SPX Blackwater Tactical semiauto 12 gauge -

I had the Mossberg 930 SPX 8-shot without the pistol grip...just the regular stock. Awesome shotgun, to say the least. Actually sold mine last year because someone offered me a dollar amount for it I just couldn't turn down. Only thing I had against it was at a loaded weight of over 8 pounds (I had a light out at the end of the magazine tube), it seemed a bit heavy and unwieldy to me. Then again, when you fire it and see what it'll do to a target, you tend to disregard the weight. It'll do the home protection job very well...no doubt about that.

1. The 85 pound lap dog is first-up. :)
2. Alarm system is back-up. :):)
3. 1911A1 with night sights that I used to qualify expert with. :):):)
4. The same 1911A1 that my wife shoots better than I do when
I put it down to pick up the shotgun or AR. :):):):)

My MP15 and my Sig P250c 40sw, both by my bed.

My dog Fisher, part Chihuahua part Dachshund, sleeps with me and will bark at any bump in the night.

Don't wake the misses up when she is sleeping. Can you say pit bull. My sweet wife turns into one if disturbed. Lol just kidding but sometimes she does.

My dog is 100% on guard. Nothing gets by him.

My cat Rambo is a living breathing smoke alarm.

It's covered beyond that with my 1911/cz82 I'm a double fisted shooter. I get the scraps the dog leaves behind. I got one of those crazy pink nosed dogs. Ever notice the cats and dogs with pink colored noses are a tad nuts?

Yeah any shotgun that holds 8 rounds is gonna be a bit on the heavy side when fully loaded. But with the short 18 1/2" barrel it's easy to swing. Love it, my friends can't believe how well it kills clays with the short barrel and open cylinder - no choke.

I am really jealous of all yalls "Advanced Biological Intrusion Detection Systems"... I wish I could talk Momma into a pup, but she is having none of it.... it is sad.... she don't know it yet, but a finely pedigreed lab is gonna follow me home one day :D :D

Only my thoughts on this, but... adopt a rescue dog. Save yourself a few bucks, save a life, and you'll get a dog who's grateful forever. That's the most loyal guard dog you can get. Mine's 4 years old now, and spoiled... but she knows who spoiled her, and she'll never forget. :-)

Amber [golden retriever] sleeps right outside our bedroom door and has a very aggressive bark. Actually, she loves everyone but she sounds vicious. But she would buy enough time for me to get to my 1911 .45 in the safe beside my bed.

Amen.

All of our pets were rescues and the sweetest.

Lucy is supposed to alert me if there's any problems. She's a well trained guardian dog.

If for some reason she fails me, I keep a fully loaded FNX40 beside the bed, and a Mossberg 500 is standing up in the corner, also fully loaded and sporting a cartridge loop sling with another 10 or 12 rounds of buckshot. My carry gun (a 4040PD) sleeps on the dresser nearby as well.

I sleep like a baby.

I employ 2 rescued K-9s in the bedroom and a Kimber Ultra Carry 1911 in the nightstand. An Ithaca M37 20" is on standby in the closet.

A Labrador Retriever that barks at anything, a burglar alarm system hooked up to a central station, my cell phone, a good flashlight and a .357 Magnum revolver with extra ammo in a draw. Can't think of anything else I need. I sleep well !
