M&P15 stripped lower receiver
Sometime last year I bought one from Buds, was in the market for another. While I did find one, from a place I'd never heard of or dealt with before, I noticed everyone else was out of stock on these. Is this something that goes in batches or does anyone know if Smith & Wesson are not selling lower receivers separate any longer?

It could be a combination of batch production, political climate or a number of other issues affecting their availablity. I use to see the S&W stripped lowers locally on occaision but I have not seen one in quite some time. You can almost always find some assortment of Anderson, Spikes, Stag, Rock River Armory or DPMS stripped lowers.
It appears that G&R Tactical (a seemingly well respected vendor on m4carbine.net) has stripped S&W lowers in stock for $99. That seems like a decent price based on what I have seen locally when the gun shops around me have them. The local shops will have them priced around $125 to $135, if not more, if I recall correctly.

Thanks for the heads up on G&R Tactical, I'll call them tomorrow and see if they are in stock (don't trust buying online if there's no indication of in stock or not).
Want to put a M&P lower together for a M&P performance upper I picked up (it's on an Anderson lower at the moment, but I'm kind of anal like that...)
If they are in stock, 99 bucks is cheapest I've seen on them, paid 135 at Buds last one I picked up. Seen them as high as 180.00, which is crazy....

I noticed some items showed 'not in stock', but this particular lower didn't say that. Had decided I'd order it, went to add to cart and got an error, not enough stock to add to cart... Still might call tomorrow and see though. Threw another item in the cart just to see if it'd work and it did.

I have a stripped Anderson lower and upper on my bench rest AR and have had no problems. Last time I was on their site they were out of stock on all lowers. Don

Yes, I've built two rifle with Anderson lowers, used three of there uppers, all were good to go. So were the lowers from Tactical Machining, but I have a feeling they are going out of business as everything has been out of stock, There lowers had a really nice finish and engraving detail, top notch. Been keeping track of there items and nothing that was out of stock a year ago has ever came back in stock, and things they used to have are now gone too.
Spikes seems to be readily available though.
I hope this limited supply isn't a sign of things to come as the election nears....
I was trying to piece together a rifle for a friend awhile back, sort of a reference of build versus buy. I couldn't find a single place that I've sourced parts from that had everything to complete the build in one stop shopping.

That sucks. Nothing like getting your hopes up that you got a good lead on one and then it isn't there. Seems everything is a little scarce right now.

My Anderson lower came from my local gun store, and it was less than $50 out the door.

Bought the two I have from joeboboutfitters in hays Kansas less than 40 bucks a piece on sale.
I realize there are other, cheaper units available, however, when looking for something specific, others won't do. If a person was to compare the Anderson lower to the M&P15 lower, you would see and feel the difference. They will function the exact same, or they should, mine do. But I'm specifically looking for the S&W lower in this particular case.
I ended up ordering from the lone place that had it over in Missouri, called the G&R Tactical, but alas, it was in fact out of stock... On the brite side, I called the place I'd never dealt with to verify they did have it, they were polite and professional and it's already in the mail to my FFL, that's pretty fast for ordering this morning.
