Are You Noticing Price Increases for the M&P 15 Sport ii?
With politicians using the talking points of banning "assault weapons" after the July 4 mass shooting (but see update, below) and gun manufacturers getting sued for shootings (Glock in New York and pending case against Daniel Defense for the Uvalde shooting), I wonder whether the M&P 15 Sport ii prices will increase due to high demand?
My big box store has sold them for $659 since 2021, always in stock at all locations. I don't know when they increased prices, but today it's $820 for the same model (with or without scope). The store nearest to me has a six day shipping to store delay, but other stores have it in stock.
Kyle Rittenhouse's use of this model was not clearly discussed in MSM. The only way I figured it out was to enlarge a photo of DA Binger's pointing it in the courtroom, while failing to cover up the S&W logo. See here:

See also this clearer photo (which I just found):

That's old news and IIRC at least as of two months ago, it was $659.
Two days ago, on the July 4 shooting in Highland Park, IL, cops have been vague about the so-called "high powered rifle," (why, I don't understand) Crimo used, but I just found this source:
"...One of his (Crimo's) legally purchased firearms, according to authorities, was the Smith & Wesson M&P 15 rifle prosecutors allege he used to fire on parade spectators from a rooftop perch Monday...." Citation:

You are shopping at the wrong store. Everywhere else it is a sub $650 rifle.

I didn't find any in the Great People's Demokratik Republik where I live. For example, Turner's Outdoorsman increased its prices:
Rifles for Sale
Can you list links showing where they're in stock out here?

Try Atlantic Firearms.
They will sell to CA with rifles that meet all the requirements of the Worker's Paradise Politburo.

Thanks for pointing that out.
I'll keep this brief (which is always a challenge for me, LOL).
What Yeshuaisa53 seems to be referring to is that the police spokesman TODAY said nothing about a Crimo using S&W M&P Sport. Rather, he stated the brands and models of the five guns that Crimo owned. The only one that was a semi-auto that's even close to the so-called "high powered rifle" he reported the other day that Crimo owned and used now seems a Kel-Tec Sub-2000, which is, of course, a 9mm pistol caliber carbine.
source:
I heard the audio of that shooting, which was VERY rapid fire. There's no way that Crimo used a bolt-action rifle and highly unlikely he shot anything other than a full-auto conversion of a rifle.
Further support that he likely used a Kel-Tec Sub 2000:

I would say that the prices of the M&P Sport 2 are up a bit, but there are still relatively decent deals to be had. I recently bought one from a local dealer for $700 out the door which saved me the shipping, tax, and transfer fees I’d have paid if I had ordered one online from vendors that seem to currently be charging around $699 and up for them. The days of sub-$500 Sport 2’s are over folks.

Sport II...
The local big box store had the Sport II for $629.99 this past May. Currently they are listed at $899.99. I would say they are going up in price. tom.

In my area of Florida I’ve noticed prices coming down and well off their peaks.

Just out of curiosity I checked out a major online seller and they're also at $700 and up. Can't really mention where I saw it because I'm tired of getting dinged for minor stuff.
