Default M&P Sport II

I just picked up a new Sport II with a Vortex Sparc optic on it. Is there anything I need to know about them? I have had several different brand ARs in the past but this is my first S&W M&P.

I have one without a dust cover and the 1-9” twist barrel. I originally bought it for the furniture to use on my granddaughter’s AR. I decided to keep it for myself.
