I saw on the Numrich website page for the S&W 39/39-2 this rear sight that is adjustable for both windage and elevation and it says it is factory. However, I haven't seen them on any pistols. Do you have one on yours? Could you post a picture? What about some aftermarket sights? I do see that Millett makes some aftermarket sights for the S&W 39/59.

Millett Auto Sights - Series 100 Adjustable Sight System. BE00002, BE00007, BE00008, BF00008, FB00019, FB00021, RP85006, RP85007, RS22002, RS22010, RS22011, RS22012, RS22013, RS22017, SW39595, SW40513,

Cheers,
Jeff

I don't have them on my 39 but when we were issued the 39/39-2 some of the guys put those sights on theirs. They were as low profile as the windage only sights and seemed to work pretty well. Very simple to install and you can quickly remove them if for some reason you don't like them.

Interesting. Anyone have any pics?

This sight is a factory part. I bought this one off the forum a few months ago.

I have Millett 100 series revolver sights mounted all the way to the rear of the slide on my 39-2. They were done at Austin Behlert's shop in Cranford, NJ back in 1980 - he did an action job at the same time. That is one sweet trigger !
Pics to follow ...........and yes, it's a shooter, not a safe queen ..........

Wow. That gun looks sweet. With the two tone and the Millett sight you have a one of a kind 39-2.

I had no idea what a 147A was until I looked it up. And I know my S&W autoloaders pretty well... All I can say is you are a lucky bastard. I bet your wife is hot too.

They did a good job. Definitely not drop in.

No. It's a 147A. It came with the red ramp.

I put Minature Machine Co sights on my 39-2. Should have kept that gun. Don't know whether MMC is still in business. Sure wish I could have got S&Ws for it. I have a set of Milletts on a Beretta 92; they seem to be made of pot metal and I don't like them.
