this is what happens when you wait to long...

I feel for ya! Back in the dial-up Internet days, when it took forever to refresh pages, I regularly lost auctions that way...

Here's a suggestion: Since you were willing to bid $73 more than the winner of the auction paid, did you consider contacting him to see if he would be willing to re-sell it to you for $450? Alternatively, you could contact him and let him know that if he doesn't like it for some reason after he gets it, you will be willing to buy it from him.

Just a thought... :-)

If he's smart he'll realize that the gun will sell for closer to $600 if listed properly.

Plan B

Been there. Lost a few that way, getting caught up in my real life and not getting back to the on-line auction in time.

Being wiser now (), an alternative procedure that has worked to my satisfaction is to determine what the maximum cost a gun is worth to me, and then to bid that and walk away until the auction closes. That way I don't get caught in a last-minute, testosterone-fueled, emotional contest, or kick myself for not getting on the score board while the game was on. With a 15-minute rule like gunbroker's, the price is going to go up as long as people are still bidding, so sneaking in a quick bid in the last few seconds goes nowhere anyhow.

I gotta know. What was your top bid?

My top bid was $391. I did realize it was a good deal. I've been watching the 3913s on GB for a month or so and have seen the 3913 LSs going for near $600 or so. But you know what, I'm always reading about guys getting great deals on guns, I never have, it was just my turn :)

Well, dang it, when is it gonna be my time? If I read one more of these I'm gonna be in therapy for ever!

Way to go! That could have gone for $500, easily. And the 3913NLS usually goes for even more. Some folks just aren't secure in their tighty whities if they have "Lady" on their pistol.

Wait a minutes, you did by buy a non-script!! Oh, thanks, now I really feel trashed!!

His doesn't say "lady" on it. This was a complete fail on the sellers part. 3919 in the titl cost him $200 easy.
I love it when a plan comes together :)
