Can someone tell me the correct direction of the recoil spring, on the guide rod when reassembling the bodyguard 380. The spring has more coils on one end then on the other. Thanks.

There are actually 2 springs, one inside the other. the larger diameter coils go into the front of the slide, the smaller on the rod.

I'm pretty sure mine is correct. I have the pin inserted into the end of the spring where the spring is spaced more densely. The wider spaced part of the spring is at the end of the barrel.

That is the direction I have mine going. Single portion of the spring towards the muzzle. In the picture, your guide rod is backwards, and could lead to confusing answers. I've been running mine with the single part inserted first and it's been fine this way. 100%. There's no mention of orientation in the manual so I imagine it doesn't matter?

*Edited: I just took the slide off mine and looked at the spring. I tried the spring by hand and it doesn't matter what end you put on the guide rod. The smaller spring moves back and forth.
**maybe I should look at the date before I post.:o
