Performance Center 1911 front sight

I just got a PC 1911 full size and I love it. My Series E was my favorite gun but the PC 1911 easily replaced it as my favorite. The only negative for me is that the front and rear sights are all black and with my old eyes it is diffucult to sight in. I would like to get a fibre optic front sight. Has anyone replaced the front sight with a fiber optic sight? If so where did you get it and if you know, what is the part number?
Did you replace it yourself or have smith do it?

Don't feel like the Lone (and Blind) Ranger!

I'm having the same issue. I installed red dots on many of my other firearms because of the same issue. Even three dots without tritium or FO cause problems now. I don't want to alter the slide on this gun though, so I'm looking for a replacement front sight.

I wish the Custom Shop would have offered options for the front post or sight. It looks like Brownell's, and numerous other aftermarket suppliers carries sights that'll fit. I'm hoping to hear something back here before I make a purchase.

Hi All,

I love my 1911PC as well....swapped in Dawson front sights - go to their website - they direct you to which one fits the 1911PC. There are 2 different widths, I recommend the wider which is still much thinner than the stock site

I carry a can of white paint in my range bag so I can paint the steel white. Makes the black sights work great.
