(Another) Pawn shop find: Performance Center 1911

There's a pawn shop that I stop at once in a while to look in the gun case. I haven't bought anything there, but they do have 3rd Gens now and again. One was a 4043 that had been ceracoated with pink and black stripes. I couldn't even bear to ask to see it.

Today, I saw a 908 in the case. Tagged at $335.00 which seems to be what it is worth, but below what they seem to go for. I was tempted to offer $300.00, but the truth is I would only buy it with the intention of flipping it.

For once I didn't give in to temptation.

Yet.

Did the same thing yesterday, maybe I should go back, after doing a little net surfing. My pawn shop had a stainless Chiefs Special 45 ACP in excellent condition with 4 or 5 mags....didn't pay that much attention. Asked to handle it simply because I had never seen one and the price tag got my attention. Again, not paying all that close attention, I'm wanting to recall the price was around $350 (?). Don't know if it had a box/case, but several mags. in a plastic bag with a rubber band around it. After getting home and firing up the 'computer research machine' and seeing/reading about the CS45, I'm now thinking....Hmmmm!

I would go right back there and buy that. They're very hard to find and when you do find them they're generally very expensive. The magazines are bonus as well.

Slight correction! I just called the pawn shop, it's a 40 S&W (not a 45 ACP) with 4 magazines. $350 out the door! Is it still desirable being a 40 S&W? if so, I may stop by this afternoon and take a closer 'inspection look' this afternoon. No box, BTW.
BTW, I already have about 1200 rounds of that ammo for my other 40's! so

Even though I'm not a 40 fan, I'd probably buy that. There is a niche market for them, so if you don't like you'll likely find a buyer. There are also people who have converted them to 10mm.

Well, it's mine now, for better or worse! Got it for $350 out the door, which made it $322.xx pre tax. Four magazines, no box. Says Chiefs Special on the slide and MOD CS40 on the frame, S.N. VJH15XX. Would like to find out the manufacture date. It's in pretty decent shape for it's age, must not have seen a lot of 'duty'. Fairly heavy gun for it's smallish stature.
In 40 S&W I already have a Sig P250 and a Smith PC M&P Shield 2.0, 3" ported. So, I'm ready to go with a bunch of ammo, regardless of 'fan status' on my part...I like everything!
I think I did OK on the deal(?).
I've read of conversions to 9mm, 10mm, and 45 ACP, with top end parts....now just have to find those parts.
