I would like to find a paddle style hip holster for my 3906; something similar to a Bianchi model 59. Since there were so few 3906's manufactured none of the holster manufacturers list a "fit" for this pistol. I was just curious if any other 3906 owners on the forum had come across one that would fit this pistol reasonably well.

The squared trigger guard can be problematic when searching for early 3rd gen holsters. While holster makers no longer list a fit for the 3906, most do for the 5906. This Don Hume holster is molded for the squared trigger guard 5906 and therefore fits my 3906 perfectly.

Hi hook, there are several paddle makers but you have to be careful because not all paddles are equal. Have you tried any and found one you like? If not, be prepared for trial and error. Most of them get hot in the summer (or any time, if you're one of us sweaty dudes) and are curved in such a way that you can only fit it over your hip a certain way or it digs in. That said, I just received a new-old stock Don Hume paddle for my 457 from "hardtofindholsters" on eBay. The paddle is not molded but has some flexibility to it. It's suede-covered plastic. We'll see how it works out. Also look at Forum member Robbt's listing ("Original Grips & Holsters, Frequent Daily Additions, come and visit, buy me a beer") in the Accessories/Misc for sale ads. He has a ton of older holsters and his prices are (IMHO) reasonable. I agree about the 5900 holsters... the slides and hooked trigger guard are the same as yours so you should be OK.
