Default Hogue Handall........not for me

I seen some discussion regarding the Hogue Handall grip cover.....and since the finger groove Hogue on my 6906 fit my hand like a glove.....I was hoping to find that same feel on my carry 3913 which has the rubber Hogue panels....for less than $10 delivered it seemed like a cost effective experiment...once installed on a spare stock grip on my 3913 it had an uncomfortable bulge and I never could find the sweet spot for me that would let me land my fingers in the grooves that felt anything like the 6906 feel.....in all fairness the Handall that I bought was listed for the 3913 but still is a universal fit for a several different models....I put my rubber panels back on my ccw and slipped the Handall on another 3913 for side by side comparison.......first pick is the stock grips and the panels....second is Handall on stock next to panels.....I'm sticking with the panels

For me, I don't see the benefit of Hogue's in any flavor on a 3913. If you want fatter grips stick with a 6906. Smith got it right with the factory standard grips. They are slim, the way you want for a concealed gun. Putting one of those slip on rubber things on the gun over the factory grips just makes cleaning under the grips that much harder. Finger grooves have a way of slowing down a draw from concealment.

Based on this recent thread I ordered both the Handall and Handall Jr. to try on my pre rail 3913. The Jr. was to short and the regular was a bit too long. A bit of trimming fixed that and I found the Handall helped my grip. I haven't gone to the range with the set up yet, but it feels more comfortable in my hand.

The panels just don't feel right in my hand for some reason.

What I really wish for is someone to make the Hogue 6906 style grip for the 3913. That's a very comfortable and naturally pointing grip in my hand.

Dot... I agree on the stock grips for the 3913 as far as cc....it's not the thinness that I don't like it's the slickness of the factory grip....I like a tacky feel...most people don't...I wish I could find something like the rubber Talons I put on the Shield I had.............GaryS......the panels are just a compromise but give me the tacky feel I like

I agree completely. I really wish there were more options for 39xx compact grips. Given the number of them out there, someone could probably make a decent profit by designing and producing a set. Alas, since S&W has stopped making the 3rd generation guns, I doubt that will happen.

A niche that could be filled.
