Tom Cruise took a 4506 or similar gun from a dead security guard near the end of the movie "Collateral".

Not a 3rd Gen but Dennis Hopper used a Md 39 in the climax of the David Lynch movie "Blue Velvet".

They are in a lot of shows and movies. NCIS LA the LAPD character uses a 5906 or 5946. Danzel Washington has used the 4506 in several movies (Two guns & Training Day). 5906 is Dt. Danny Reagan's side arm in the 1st season of Blue Bloods.

That IMFDB site is truly outrageous! It is the net result of hardcore gun-TV-movie geeks putting their energy in to a fun resource. It is NOT a little simple website, there is a crazy volume of data covered there. I am further impressed every time I visit.

A recent couple of S&W sightings I will add to this thread...
Breaking Bad. 4506 in the pilot episode and many seasons later a 945 in the hands of the bad guy that Walt runs over with his car. I can't recall if it's Walt or Jesse that picks that 945 up and has to use it on another thug, but one of them does.

Dark Blue had a few in it. Kurt Russell carried a 4506.

Keanu Reeves carried a 3rd Gen in Speed. I think it was a 3914.

Wesley Snipes used a 3913NL in Demolition Man.

Danny Glover carries a 3rd gen in a shoulder holster in Lethal Weapon 2, 3, and 4. I think it was a 5906. But, he still had his trusty M19 on his belt.

While none of the Hawaii Five O characters carry one a lot of the HPD uniforms look like they carry the 5906.

When I go to IMFDB.com it brings up the regular Internet Movie Data Base site. What am I doing wrong?

He used a Beretta 92fs for a couple of seasons. Even mentioned why he liked it. Manual safety and loading from open slide. Saved him in a gun grab when bad guy pointed it at him and it clicked instead of banged. He always carried it safety on. Now he's got a 5904 blued. Never explained the switch

Keanu had a 6904 in speed. Double stack for sure.

It was the 5946 which is accurate since that's an approved NYPD gun. Then he went to a Kahr K9 which is also accurate since that was an approved NYPD gun for a few years. No longer authorized since 2011 and guys who had them were SOL and told to sell them or keep them as a range gun, but not allowed to carry them. The job wanted the K9 to have a 13 pound trigger and Kahr couldn't make it work.
