Today was my annual LEOSA qualification. I decided to use my trusty 6906 this time around.

The median age was probably 67. One old boy had to be pushing 90 but he was balanced out by a couple of 40 something military retirees.

I saw one revolver - a 637. There were several Glocks but the semi-official geezer gun was once again the Sig P365.

In the middle of our relay an old fella with one of those oxygen-makers slung over his shoulder had to call for a delay. The staff was super nice with him and after about 15 minutes of standing around they had us continue and finish the course.

We had to empty and show clear. The Deputy checking me said - Woo Hoo! A Third Gen Smith!

Good for another year.

Looks like a fine pistol for ccw.

Hope the fellow with the O2 tank made out ok.

The deputies were great with him. They pulled him from the line and told him there was another qual in three weeks. He said he’d be traveling. Once we finished the rest of the course they held up the next relay and let him finish on his own so he wouldn’t have to come back.

Kudos to Douglas County SO.

As a fellow old geezer - is that redundant? are there young geezers? - I have to admit that the 6906 is about as good as it gets. I tried, really tried, to like the Glock 26. Sorry, no can do.
