S&W 3913 accessories??
Hey all,
I recently acquired a 3913 and am looking to add a laser, light, or a laser/light combo but am having trouble finding ANY accessories for it.
I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction to find compatible parts. Would I need to buy a rail system to attach under the barrel (and if so, where can I purchase one?) and then get laser or light?
Or is there another model number who's accessories will also for the 3913? Possibly the 6906?
Any information is appreciated ! Thanks guys !

The 3913 was designed when lasers weighed several pounds and required a back pack for the power source. Lights back then consisted of six cell Kel Lights from Safariland that doubled as bludgeons.
I believe some of the late 3913 TSW pistols had rails added on. You could probably find a gunsmith willing to add a rail to your pistol, but I firmly believe that you would be better off leaving it as is for resale value and buying something newer designed for use with a light or light/laser combo.

Ahh makes sense, my father used it as a his backup/off duty gun in the early 90s. He also has a TSW with with the rail and laser/light combo. No luck on getting that one from him.. yet
All the same though I may just end up buying something newer that was actually made within the past 15 years.
Thanks !

Leave it "stock"
The 3913's at its best as a CCW. If you want something for home defense that you can accessorize, you'd be better off considering a double-stack polymer pistol - there's plenty to chose from.
Keep that 3913 the way it was from the factory (perhaps add some good night-sights). Once you add that "factory" rail that some TSWs came with, you've impacted both the pistol's practicality and resale value... One the other hand, of course: it is YOUR pistol :-) Just my opinion...

The Crimson Trace laser grips can be modified to fit a 39xx (908). There are several threads around here on how to do it.

You have a classic and keepsake from your father. Get your concealed handgun license and use it as it was intended.

I'm actually waiting for a really nice 3913 to show up in my LGS. They aren't that easy to find. However, if it has been modified I'll be leaving it there. My opinion and advice is to keep it unmodified.

My 3913NL was bought new with a laser attached, just not by me. I have the original box and the laser, it was manufactured by Applied Laser Systems. I can't find out if it was a factory install or if maybe a dealer added it, but the label was placed on the box.
I ran across it in a gun shop while on my travels for work and fell in love with it. I took the laser off for carry purposes but have kept it in the box in case I find out I have some sort of "rare jewel"
I don't evem know if they are still in business, but they certainly made one at some point in time, and it did not come with a backpack battery.

It seems that no one knows much about it though, was hoping somebody knew if it was a rarity or just some dealer add on. But it does answer the OP's question about availability of a lase for a 3913.

A thread back from the dead................
For what it is worth, I just took delivery of an unfired 3913 with the Applied Laser Systems laser attached to the front of the trigger guard. It is definitely stock from the factory and marked as such on the box label.
I intend to remove it and put it in the box for the future.

The 3913 is a fine shooter and EDC.
I have a complete 3913LS slide sitting here so let me know if you need it for spare parts.

Accessories for the 3913? They are called bullets! And a Holster!
Just teasing you. As others have said, the 3913 was designed before accessories were a thing. They are still good guns and hold their own against newer guns. They are a good balance of conceal ability, shootability, safety and reliability.
To sum up, not much of an accessorizing gun but excellent at what it was designed for.

Not sure if it is considered an accessory, and hope not drifting too far off topic, but one add on/replacement I made on my 3913TSW, that I am glad I did, was a set of Novak Adjustable Sights.
