Model 41 Super Sport Suppressor ready barrel

I always like to see others peoples Model 41 projects so thought I would do the same. First I owe the credit of the design of the barrel to my "Old man". Second Erik at EWK deserves all the credit for the work done on the barrels. Erik did great work and the project turned out great. End result we ended up with a pair of Model 41 suppressor ready super sport barrels. With a Sparrow attached, the barrels weigh one once heavier than a standard 41 Sport barrel. They shoot great. My favorite touch is the barrel cutoff as the thread cap, not sure how Erik does the timing but it is spot on. I have attached some pictures of one of the barrels.

Below is the list of items completed to get to the end state. Not sure on the exact order Erik executed them.

1. Started with a new 7" Standard Model 41 Barrel new from Smith and Wesson.
2. Barrel Vented
3. Front Site milled off Barrel.
4. Barrels cut 4.5 Inches to end of muzzle, 5" to end of 1/2 28 threads.
5. New Front Site created(By Erik) and attached via milled slot to the barrel.
6. Barrel Cutoff threaded so can serve as the thread protector.
7. Barrel thread protector timed so when tightened to barrel lines up with original alignment before was cutoff.

please tell me that these will become publicly available ???

drilled and tapped for a pic rail would also be handy ( factory barrel may already be rail ready ? )

That looks great!

Eric is a great person to deal with. He recently completed a surplus barrel for me that came out fantastic. Milled off the front sight, vented for kicks, then milled a flat to secure my FF3.

The barrel is Rail ready, factory tapped. Started with a 7" new barrel purchased last spring. You can find Erik at EWK Arms.

so is this something that EWK could do on a "special order" basis ?

i.e. they purchase the barrel from S&W , modify it and then sell it to a happy camper ?

I seriously doubt it. You could send him a message and report back though. Factory barrels are not readily available like they once were.

From my experience and what I have read, You need to source and provide the barrel. He will perform the work you want if he's up for it. He was very open to taking my ideas and determining what can and can't be done.

You will need to send the barrel for any work you want done unless you pick up something he stocks. Last year around tax time Smith did a run of new barrels, only time will tell if they do it this year.

Awesome! And threaded for o-ring engagement too. You will LOVE your suppressed Model 41. Mine is absolutely one of my favorite guns out of 100+. It took a little tuning with recoil springs and a Volquartsen extractor but it runs 100% now and drives tacks with CCI standard velocity.

Man I've known Eric for about 15 years and I came up with the idea for suppressor adaptor for 2206 series guns and he made a few and is still selling them. Will drop him an email or call him today.
