Is the metal 4513/4516 guide rod interchangeable with the 457 plastic one?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Yes.
You're welcome.
John
Thanks again.
Related question. Is it worth replacing the plastic 457 one with the metal one? As in, do they ever break?
Just to be clear, you did say 4513/4516 (later) guide rods which take the dual springs like the 457.
The earlier 4516 single spring guide rod is not interchangeable.

Tell ya what, Gary: you keep shooting your 457 the way you have been, whatever way that is, and keep cleaning it now and again, and if your plastic guide rod ever wears out or fails to function properly, I'll buy you a new one.
Fair enough?![]()

Just kidding.Sounds like vigil617 has a lot of faith in those original plastic guide rods.
Good to know.

Only 2 left I see... so any Model 457 owner who feels they might need one someday should probably grab one before they disappear!FWIW, Midway has metal guide rods for the 457 in stock for around $12, so a spare one in the parts bin wouldn't break the bank.
