Money is no object, and I need a barrel made from scratch, who can I source that to?

So I have an old S&W 5906 TSW and it's sort of my "resto-mod" slash money-hole project gun. The icing on the cake would be to have a new custom extended and threaded barrel made for it. I frankly don't care how much it costs. I just want it. Does anyone know who I could source that job to?

Thanks!

You'd be hard pressed to find a better outfit than IGB Barrels in Austria. They make match grade, precision barrels on a production and custom one-off basis. They are the only company that I've seen that can make replacement barrels for the Hämmerli P240 or SIG Neuhausen P210 that match the originals.
They're a bit more expensive than most, but not at all unreasonable.

Best wishes,
Jim

Bar-Sto probably has something in their vault that will work.

Bar-Sto Precision Machine

Are you using the term vault figuratively or is that a thing? I don't see anything on their site other than M&P barrels.

Never mind, on their site:

Bar-Sto Frequently Asked Questions

CZ, Walther, H&K, 400 Corbon, S&W......?
We do not produce anything for the CZ, Walther, H&K, Smith and Wesson (with the exception of the M&P), Kahr, or Ruger. We do not produce 400 Corbon barrels anymore and we do not have any left over. If you do not see the barrel you need on our website, chances are we do not make it.

Message sent to them, thank you for the suggestion.

If you are looking for a barrel maker that is going to have a web page where they actually say "yeah, we love to make one-off barrels for guns out of production for 15 years" then please do share all that you find.

Bar-Sto? Sure as hell actually, definitely, most certainly COULD do exactly what you ask and considering Bar-Sto's history with S&W 3rd Gen pistols, I don't think there exists a better answer for the task.

I think it would be funny to hear the price quote, especially if you opened the conversation first with "money is no object!"

My guess at their answer: 3,000 or maybe 5,000 unit minimum order.

This will be a tremendous benefit to you, as you will have a few back-up barrels, since money is no object.

Thanks jsbethel, that is a sad story and hopefully that guy gets some help from Barsto. But realistically, I'm just a dude fooling around with an old 5906 TSW that is in no way special, or worth the kind of money that PC gun is. Highly unlikely the president of Barsto would get out of his chair for me and my $400 TSW to search through boxes!

I think if I really want ot make it a reality, I'll get a 9mm barrel blank, recreate my barrel in a CAD file and just find a shop that will cut it. I was just hoping there was a one stop shop for all that.

Otherwise, my next project is a 1911 that I can put a can on, and there's parts galore for that!

I have bought a lot of used and new obselete gun parts on ebay. often i see entire slides for sale with barrells, springs, everything for around 150 bucks. numrich is another website that sells hard to find barells

You will need a barrel longer than the one you have .
A good machine shop should able to do it . They will need a briley bushing and briley’s drill bit for the task . I asked my self this same question . Running suppressed 5906 would be sweet.
google briley bushing . They supply s&w with the bushing .
I don’t see why S&w pc cannot do the work .
It will be hard to find a gun smith to educate them about the process.
If S&w is still doing pc 3rd gen services . I’d supply s&w pc with a longer barrel . It’s worth the try all they need to do is cut thread and fit barrel and drill out for the briley bushing .
