I found this little guy in my LGS... I didn't know a lot about them, and am still learning... I found a 14 page thread that turned out to be based around EWK making a wrench for this gun, and I am glad that Eric is making a few parts as I have made several purchases for my Dan Wessons from EWK... There are bunches of threads on this site about this gun... I learned about its cousins, the 422 and 622... If there is a definitive thread, maybe someone can point me in the right direction...

The 422-622-2206-2213-2214s are my favorite 22 autoloaders. None of mine are fussy about ammo and are as accurate as needed.I love the mag release in the front of the grip. I've put thousands of rounds through them with no issues.I did break a firing pin once,but they are easy to buy (new) and install. In my opinion one of the most underrated guns S&W has ever made. If that 2213 is priced in the $300-400 range snap it up. You won't regret it. I actually sold my 41 recently as I was no longer using it. 8 round magazines can be difficult to find.Buy them when you find them.(assuming you buy the 2213..)

Yeah, this is the big problem keeping me from buying either a 2213 or a 2214 even though I'd love to have one or both in the collection to go along with my nifty little Model 61. :o Only mags I've seen lately for the 2213/2214 are $100 and up. Even my best magazine guys don't have any and don't expect to find any to sell in the foreseeable future. :(

I have a WTB listing in the forum classifieds, but I'm not expecting any rush to sell by current owners. ;)
 
I have owned nine of the 422, 622, 2206, 2213, 2214 series of pistols. I still have a 2206 and two 622 pistols; all with 4.5” barrels and fixed sights. Here is my old 2213; I swapped it for a S&W 32-1 in 2014 and gave it to my granddaughter.

I bought the brushed nickel limited edition 2214 for my son twenty-seven years ago; he still has it, and four spare mags.

These were fine guns. The finish on the 422/2214 models was about as durable as carbide lamp smoke. I ruined two stuffing them in and out of a Bianchi X15 shoulder holster.

There are quite a few 2213 & 2214 threads on this site. You just need to use the search feature.
I have a 2214 and it will likely be the gun I keep until I can no longer shoot. I like it better than my target 22's.

I've done a few upgrades to make it my own. It shoots fairly well for a 3 inch barrel. Older eyes and a slight shake in my hands doesn't help. But it still rates high in the fun factor. I am fairly sure these targets were shot at 10 or 12 yards.

Wow! :eek: That is amazing. :eek: That's an absolute giveaway. :eek: One just went for over $500 on GB and the best I've seen lately (locally) was $350. Best price on GB lately was still over $400. Highest was over $600. :cool:

That's a great price, I would have never put it down after seeing the sticker! I paid about $100 more for a beat up one a few months back just because I wanted it and don't mind a project. Magazines are the main detraction, but like others said, you can always use full length Mod 41/422/622/2206 magazines until you can find some more short ones. Which you might as well buy, because you'll likely end up owning one of the full size models before too long ;). At this point I've got a 2213, 2214, 422, and 622VR - and the Model 41 usually sits in the safe on range days.

Duckfood, I'm not sure there is a definitive thread on the 2213 itself, but you might find this one interesting, as it is written by one of our best resident authors and deals with development of the gun that evolved into the 2213 and other .22LR pistols of S&W. Enjoy!
