Recently acquired a 659. Nice pistol however the mag release is finicky. It requires a very full and complete press to release the magazine. Which can be good or bad. Either way, is the mag release button adjustable or does it just "unscrew"? Any chance there is a longer, aftermarket magazine release/catch? Probably not likely...
Thanks for any input.

It is adjustable, by unscrewing.
Push in the detent next to the button and turn it out a half or full turn.

I love my 659!

Assuming...

That the magazines are in clean, good condition, are not binding in the magwell, and have an undamaged release notch.

That the right side of the release does not have its travel impeded by a grip.

That the mag release, button, plunger, spring, and bore are clean and not binding.

That the mag release button is properly adjusted (the plunger is flush or just proud of the frame).

Then, yes.
You can depress the plunger (while supporting the right side of the release with a wadded up paper towel) and turn the button (one half turn at a time) to raise or lower it.

Also, the Models 439 and 639 had a taller mag release button that will fit although it will protrude more than the original and may cause an unintended mag drop.
