I'm watching a 1911 video and they are showing a special tool that is plastic...

It's a tool to push in the Safety Plunger Button...
(Blue Tool in photo below)

Does anyone know where I can buy one???
I checked Midway and Brownells and couldn't find it...

Thank You

Just be Very Careful when removing the safety, have never had any “ issues”. One may find a similar piece of plastic close to whats shown by checking 1 gal. water jugs at grocery store. Many times the hole to pick up jug is not knocked out the “ blank”piece of plastic is hanging there, have to trim it to use but works well for few jobs.3CB3F659-F5F3-4403-9EA7-CBE0FA3679BF.jpg

I make my "special safety tool " from a large Chopstick .
Whittle and sand the working end to fit the job .It's safe to use , no scratch on finish ...better than small screw driver ...trust me !
They don't last forever ... but we eat out Chinese ... and they're Free !
Getting that safety back in place ... is so much easier with a little pusher tool and a third hand !

The pointed end of the cap from a bic pen works very well when inserted from above and behind the thumb safety. I’m sure almost everyone has an old bic pen in a kitchen drawer.

TangoDown

Thanks all

I found it earlier today...
I don't know why it didn't come up in the Midway search, I searched "1911 tools", it's listed as a "Armorer’s Tool"... I guess Midway is fusy...

The one in the video was from Pachmayr, it's called a Pachmayr Widget, but it is now discontinued, the new one is made by TangoDown...

Midway had it and I ordered it...

I've been using different thing's for way to many year's, it's nice to know that there is "a tool for that"!!!

Something new!?! I have been working on M1911's for 50 years and have never seen that.

Same here, in 50 years of working on 1911's I just "made do" with some kind of makeshift something that worked...

Then I was watching this video and I saw him use that tool and I said "what kind of witchcraft is this???"

I found the tool, the one he has is discontinued, it's a Pachmayr Widget...

The new one is made by TangoDown...

Hey that's "Good old yankee ingenuity"...

I've been doing the same thing for year's, I made a tool out of one of those plastic sight tools that is used on M&P's...

I found the new one though, it's made by TangoDown...

I've done that in the past...

Lately I was using a M&P Sight tool that I widdled down...

I found the tool earlier, it's made by TangoDown now...
