So after finding a complete CS40 kit, minus receiver, on GB in January, I decided to send the barrel to Bill, BMCM, for his magic and I am more than impressed.
I waited a few weeks to post my review on this conversion because I wanted to put 500 rounds down range first.
Out of those rounds I never had any malfunctions. I tried everything from CCI aluminum cased ammo to high end Hornady Critical Duty 175.
My reloads had the best accuracy at 20 yards.
The most difficult part of this conversion is getting the mag gutted and getting the 10mm follower sanded down on the sides to fit the last round perfectly.
A big thanks to Bill for all his work on the barrel.

Very nice! Congrats to you and Bill (BMCM) for the great conversion.

Please post a range report when get time to shoot it. What’s the mag capacity?

Will do a range report and video soon.
Mag capacity is 7 + 1.
Recoil doesn't seem to be any different than the 40 to me.

Congrats on your setup! :)

If you can't tell the difference between your 10mm loads & your 40S&W loads in your conversion then something isn't right.

I can sure tell when I'm shooting 10s in my 1013, & it's a little heavier. What a hoot! :D

Enjoy!

If you are shooting self defense/law enforcement 10mm ammo, then it will feel like shooting 40 S&W ammo as the 40 S&W was designed to replicate the reduced velocity of law enforcement 10mm ammo. Full power 10mm will produce a lot more recoil.

To me, recoil doesn't seem much different, to my son and friend that shot the gun, they could really tell the difference.
My reloads are obviously hotter loads but I seem to be a freak of nature with handguns and recoil.
Also, I have checked and X2 checked the frame for splits, cracks, or anything that may or could wear due to the conversion.
Still looks in great shape.

When you originally posted this I didn't have a CS40 & couldn't quit understand why it was hard to do since the 4013 mags are easy to convert.

Now that I have a CS40 the difference is very obvious & made we wonder right away what it'd take to gut its mag.

I don't plan on converting mine, since I already have a 1013, but can you briefly tell us what it took to remove the spacer & the alignment track for the cartridge's extractor groove?

That alignment track annoys the heck out of me when loading 40S&Ws & makes me wonder if it's all that necessary.

I had Bill do my CS40 also . But thanks to my buddy's here I was pointed to another CS40 barrel and then a slide . I shipped it off to Guzzitaco and he put the PC cots into the slide and mounted an LPA adjustable . Now I have the best of both worlds , and I don't have to worry about the sights being off the I shoot 10mm .

For some reason I cannot quote your reply but to remove the spacer and alignment thing, I just started popping welds with a thin, long-shafted screwdriver and then took my long thin needle nose pliers and pulled that assembly out of the magazine and then took the Dremel to the inside of the mag to remove any burrs.
The hardest part was shaping the 10mm follower to fit the mag lips up top.
Good thing that I ordered 12 of them because I destroyed 4.
