I was going through my parts tonight and in my Colt stuff I found two more 4506 recoil guide rods, (NOS old style,) and a Menck recoil buffer. Don’t know how or when they got mixed in.

I remember running the Menck but don’t remember why I stopped. Maybe my light SWC hand loads?

A search of the Menck eventually took me here of course, thumbs down but everywhere else thumbs up. It seems many we’re using them for shooting the .45 super in the 4506’s with great success. Maybe even a requirement?

Sorta like all the Ed Brown 3rd Gen extended offerings “back then” it’s probably just a piece of the past now. I actually found a post on another forum from years ago that 18DAI opined on the Menck in the 4506’s. I was sad again reading it but it’s so really cool that he’s still around in a way.

Had many of these back in the day. Used them in the 4546 with .45 Super ammunition when hiking.

I still use one in a Beretta 92D when using the hot M1152 ammunition.
