Best concealable 9mm pistol?

Sig 365
Don’t own one, but would if I didn’t already have a G26.

Although well built, I never got use to 3rd gen triggers.

The G-26 is the gold standard ,reliable and easy to shoot good. I shot a few brands the G26 was the best for me too.

Been carrying one since 1990! 3913/3914 or 3913NL [7+1] and 25oz IWB in a Sparks Summer Special II or Executive Companion holster.

Another reason is single stack extra mags are easier to conceal/carry and one should always have at least one spare mag.

I don't like striker fired guns for concealed carry DA/SA for me since 1988 when I switched from a 1911 to a Sig 220. DA first shot is a "final" safety/decision making moment! I grew up shooting DA revolvers DA!! It's not hard to master!

If you need, or think you might need, more than 8+1...... you're looking at a firefight not a self-defense situation..... in which case IMHO you need a "service size" handgun; for me that's a 6906 at 12+1 w/ extra 15+ mags or a Beretta Compact , now 15+1 or Centurion at 18+1 both can use a spare 18 or 20 rd mag.

Would love to try a 365 myself. For now stickin with my CS-9. Like the trigger and sure is compact enough

I've never been a fan of traditional double-action semi-auto pistols. Kahr CM-9 is a great little carry pistol and you can pick up used ones for a song. That being said, I quit EDCing mine when I got my Sig P365. More bang for the buck and I shoot the 365 better.

I assumed that when John/PALADINE85020 started this original post, he meant S&W 9mm semi’s. Yes for sure there are some really nice and easily concealed 9mm’s from other manufacturers but he didn’t start this in the Firearms & Knives- Other Brands section.

For me I agree that the CS9’s are excellent in this roll. They do everything I want and need and to me look good doing it. I am thankful I got one of the “last” TercGen’s before his hiatus. (?)

My 3913NL runs a close second, or I guess third.

Jim

It’s an interesting thought. The 3913/14/NL series are great little guns, but I don’t think they’re successfully marketable in today’s world. In that market, plastic double-column has taken over, and I think it will remain that way unless there is a political intervention in the area of magazine capacity.

I like the 3913 but I like the P365 more. I can easily outshoot the 3913 with my P365, but I doubt that is an accuracy/precision fault of the S&W - more just a matter of the P365 being more user friendly to me.

My vote goes for my EDC, a Rohrbaug R9 in a Matt DeFatti pocket holster. Carried it for 11 years and have yet to find a better replacement.

This one works just fine for my humble needs:

I tend to go with the Kahr PM pistol. I like the long "DA style" trigger pull and that the FP spring is fully at rest.

I have the Chiefs Specials also, and they're fine too.

A bit large compared to the Kimber SOLO. Which is about the smallest all metal semi pistol I have in 9mm.

I'd really like to like the odd ball Sardius 9. All metal frame and a DA trigger pull with "double strike" capability and a manual safety.

A weird little gun. Too bad it isn't alloy framed and better quality.

I'm partial to my Hellcat. Apex trigger. Shield SMSc red dot. Vedder AIWB holster.

I have been carrying my Kahr pm9 for at least 15 years. I have some other small pistols and revolvers but always go back to my Kahr. I have been looking at early Smith 9's recently and may pick one up to check it out

The best gun to carry concealed is the one that you can carry concealed and shoot well. Your question is a little too broad. Someone that is 6'5" and 350lbs could carry a full size 1911 concealed with no problem. Someone that weighs a buck 5 and is 5'01" might have a problem with a full size 1911. Plus everyone has their favorite.

Kinda like saying, what truck do you like to haul stuff around.

Just sayin.

Agree with IAM Rand. My normal carry is a 1911, recently an SC, IWB. My usual "uniform" is jeans and a Columbia fishing shirt, or a T shirt. However, there are times when I might have a tucked-in shirt, so the IWB would print. Watching this thread with interest to settle on a pocket pistol. A P365 looks like a good candidate, but I'd like to find a .45 so I won't need different ammo (trying just to have one type of ammo) - I don't mean to hijack the thread.

Old School

I am with the OP, Paladin on this one. I love my S&W 3913. I am old school and like metal guns and leather holsters. There are lots of Tupperware guns and holsters out there from all over the world and I have some, but like I said, metal and leather.

My choice (for 4.5 years now) is the Sig P365. While the Hellcat is close it is slightly larger and heavier. FN just came out with the Reflex which is ever so slightly larger but the same weight. The Reflex boasts a hammer fired mechanism instead of the usual striker. Because of this they tout a very very smooth trigger but I have not personally shot one yet.''
