It's just my opinion because I own one and find it superb for its intended purpose - but:

I think that the S&W Model 3913 has more nearly approached the ideal carry 9mm pistol than any other gun made since. It's quite slim, compact, reliable and accurate.

You can take your plastic non-hammered striker-fired modern wonders and find that they just do not measure up against the 3913.

I'm sure there might be a few who might agree! Smith should bring it back!

I like single stacks myself. My frequent EDC these days is a Springfield EMP. Carries well. Shoots well. I have extensive training and practice with a 1911 platform so I am comfortable with it. I also like the metal frame rather than polymer. (I don't hate polymer. I happily own two Glocks.)

I carried a 3913 and 3914LS for several years. Great carry guns. I tried a CS9, but found it harder to conceal and less friendly to shoot.
The past 4 years has belonged to the SIG 365. Hard to ignore the weight and size difference. I was, however, dragged kicking and screaming into the striker-fired world.

I would be fine if I was "forced" to go back to a 39xx.

I bought a M39-2 in about 1979 at the Tulsa Gun show and it was beauty that I wish I still had, pride of ownership means a lot to me when it comes to guns but I like my Sig 365 for carry. I would probably trade it for a Shield Plus if I could find would one that had as sweet a trigger.

I am really warming up to the CSX for it's concealability, it's capacity, it's fit in the hand, the single action trigger and it's ambidextrous controls. I owned and carried a Novak customized 3913 for a second weapon on duty and off duty until I was made an offer I could not refuse by another Trooper. While a good shooter and with a proper holster it concealed well, the CSX still has the 3913 beat in concealability and capacity. Time will tell whether the CSX will have the longevity of the 3913 series.

Right now, my ported PC Shield 2.0 4" .45 has my vote, although we'll see how well the 5904 does when it comes home.

As I Gun up for the Zombie apocalypse, I'm getting more into the 9s.
Just bought a Sig 365 X Macro.
And I like it a lot!
The trigger, grip and the sights.
I had passed over the earlier models.
But now I'm thinking of backpedaling and getting one of the 12 shot models.
This is my first go with 17 round mags.
I have 6. 6 x 17 = 102.
Can't load up with a Cabelas 100 round Bulk Box!

I've got a SA EMP 9mm and a S&W 3913 and they're both fine pistols but my Glock 43 and Walthers PPS M1 & M2 are much lighter (& therefore much easier to carry). I've never seen so many choices of good quality compact & subcompact pistols though. You've really gotta work at making a bad selection.

Many, many, different opinions on which pistol conceals the best and which pistol that we all personally like to carry from revolvers to semi-auto's. Everybody's preference is different. The compactness of the Sig P365 just fit me better than my earlier choices which included several S&W- M&P's in the 9C's and even a PM9 which lacked capacity up beside the Sig P365. I have installed the Sig Straight Trigger and Spring Kit in my P365 and it really made the gun like I wanted it to feel. The 10+1 and the 12+1 magazine capacities are just great in a pistol that small and the recoil when shooting is not bad at all. I bought a Springfield Hellcat Pro and installed the WASP Red Dot sight on it. I took the WASP Red Dot Sight off, put it back in the box, shoot the gun better without the Red Dot. I then installed an APEX Trigger in the Hellcat Pro, just as soon as APEX made it available. As you all know the Hellcat Pro is just slightly larger than the Hellcat or the Sig P365 but has 15 round capacity. The reason I mention this is the fact that I like my P365 better than anything I have carried and the trigger is excellent and easier to conceal for me. Just my preference.

All in on the CS9 here.

In Kramer #2 or just drop it in my pocket...
