Default Mahovsky metalife

Am considering having Mahovsky do finish work on my CS45. Would be interested in feedback from any and all members who have experience with Mahovsky and whether you went with their nickel or metalife finish. All comments and feedback appreciated. Thanks.

As I recall metallife is a hard chrome so it won't work on an alloy frame.

Gary---Mahovsky's website states that metalife IS compatible with aluminum/alloy, made so by application first of "high phosphorous electroless nickel". Have also heard from another forum member who had mahovsky finish their alloy frame piece with good result. Any other forum members out there who have had metalife finish applied to alloy?

I have a Mag-Na-Port "Tomahawk" custom Ruger SBH with the Metalife finish and it has proven to be excellent, nice looking and functional.

Didn't have Mahovsky Metallife my pistol, my 1911 slide is Metallifed by Michigean Armaments back in the mid 80s. I put the slide on in 1987 and have never had a problem with it. Some of the AMT Stainless Steel frame parts have shown rust (Hammer, grip safety, since replaced) due to IWB carry in humid weather. This is my carry gun when I'm home. After shooting metallifed parts just require a wipe down. Barrel, slide and bushing is also Mag-na-ported and CT grips added.

I had Metallife applied to a .375 H&H many years ago, after several trips to both Alaska and Africa it still looks the same. I consider it a hard use finish.
