$1,900s for pills?

Haven't had insurance for more than a decade. I finally had to give up and go to the VA. I thank God I had that option.
My illegal alien brother in law found out he had diabetes. He went to the closest county clinic. They signed him up on the spot and treated him for stuff he didn't know he had.
They turned me down, They turned down my wife, and sent us both bills for visit where we applied. Anybody stupid enough to think these illegals are not already getting FREE health care is drinking the left wing Kool-Aid. In the south they get free everything. There is no means test for someone with a foreign sounding surname. My blonde haired blue eyed sister got care for having the last name Hernandez, which is in the top ten most common surnames in America.
Folks in the northern and east parts of the country need to wake up and smell the coffee. Juan Valdez not only picked the coffee beans his cousins processed it at a plant in Houston, drove it to your supermarket in a truck that does not have to be safe for American highways, and the truth is he did not pay any taxes because there is a huge underground market for his labor.

R&D for new drugs is unbelievably expensive. Ten years ago the average cost up to FDA approval was about a billion dollars. I'd guess it has probably doubled since then. And since not all new drugs turn out as expected or are approved, those costs have to be paid for with the profits from the successful products.

Bless their little heart.. they're just getting by!

"The 11 largest drug companies have made $711 billion in profits in just a decade."

I had to satisfy a $1500 deductable before my 'script plan kicked in. One small tube of ointment for a raised red lump on the back of my hand was $720. And a 3 month supply of Androgel was $960! 90 generic Vicoprofin tabs was $96.

After my plan kicked in , $10 for each!

if you need medical anything...go to the hosptital say your name is hector gonzalez, you only speak english because youve been here for so long after coming here to pick tomatoes, you dont have any identification, no money, no insurance.....and sit back and get taken care of.

When I got married 45 years ago, my wife was taking an ant seizure medication. The druggist was a friend of mine and he showed me what he paid for them. $2 for a month's supply. That's what he gave them to me for.

She takes the same medication today and it's $150/month for her COPAY !

There's no R&D involved and whatever was incurred has LONG ago been recouped.

Some of the increase is 'inflation' but come on, the truth is that it's just plain greed that makes these things cost so much.

The drug companies don't care how much they hurt the people and the economy, just like the oil companies.

My sister-in-law is fighting brain cancer. Going pretty well, down to 2 pills a month.....@ $2,000 each. What's wrong with this picture. Thank God for insurance her co-pay $50.00. BUT......nothing, i mean nothing that is the difference between life and death, should cost so much. Getting old ain't for sissy's.

"Most of those practices are prohibited now.Except the TV ads, of course"

The only drug rep perks that are no longer allowed are the free pens and writing pads and gifty things like umbrellas with the logo. My wife works (over 20 years) for a major medical firm with lots of Drs.

My insurance company wants to send me to a physical therapist. They tell me that my co-pay's "only" $25 per visit." I'd go twice a week. When I told them that I couldn't afford it they said, "but it's only $25 a visit." I had to spell it out for them. It's $200 a month and about a 120 mile round trip per visit for about $175 in gas a month. I still have a mortgage, 2 car notes and I'm on disability, I can't afford it. Also, my wife would have to drive me and between my doctor visits and treatment schedule it's a miracle she was able to find a job at all.

My wife has MS and I have to give her a shot every week. When we checked with medicare on the drug they told us the co pay will be $1450 each. Have you ever **** a brick..I did. Story short..we were lucky to find a company that helps pay for catastrophic stuff like that and covered the co pay for us. That was 3 years ago. Now there is new stuff coming out that is more expensive that is supposed to be better...it just rattles the brain.

I can tell you many of our inmates are simply there for the drugs. We had one recently begging to get caught and she walked into the local WallyWorld and started grabbing stuff off the shelves in plain sight of others. She got to jail and it turns out she is major heroin addict. Now she is getting all her drugs for free and all the hospital care she can get. I can't even imagine all the free drugs I have seen inmates get over the years. It has to be well into the millions. Imagine all those free drugs being dished out, in every jail and every prison in every state. How much is that costing taxpayers? Then add every hospital, every rehab, every free clinic, every psych hospital. You can't stretch the rubber band forever, one day its going to break and it will be a rough day when that happens.

all that is paid for by the folks who have to work to feed themselves; who in turn have to pay $1,000.00 per pill for themselves....

My sis-in-law and I use similar migraine meds. She works as a nurse for the local hospital, pays over $200 for 12 pills. Last time I got my 12 pills for $9. My husband is retired USCG, we chose to stay with the Tricare insurance.

How does this make sense?

One of the morning news shows was doing a piece on the astronomical medical bills the Boston bombing victims are ultimately going to be liable for , thru no fault of their own.

Yet the terrorist who lived and IS responsible will not have to pay one cent for his medical bills because YOU and I are paying them!

If y'all think its bad now, just wait until the new and improved plan goes into full force!
