Recently acquired a 10-5 that was not in "Like New" condition as the seller had claimed. It has a slow timing problem in the DA mode. Hammer trips before the cylinder stop ball drops into the cylinder notch. I'm thinking about returning it to the Smith and Wesson factory to see if it can be salvaged. Does the factory still have parts for a gun made in 1970? Can the new manufacture MIM parts be used in these older P & R guns?
Thanks for any advice.

You can buy a oversize hand and put in it and should take care of it. S&W should work on it, call and ask.
