10-8 on GB

Wgusler,

OMG! Allow me to write that again, OMG! The transformation that you did on that revolver is amazing. When I posted the first time about "Yes, it has some cosmetic issues not cured by the refinish but overall not a bad looking revolver" I was referring to the apparent blemishes on both sides of the barrel as seen in pictures posted with the GB ad. In your pics they appear to be gone. Awesome job. That gun could easily be worn with pride to most any BBQ. Understated elegance. Kudos sir. Time to clean the drool off the keyboard, again. regards, hardcase60

From the rounded and polished trigger and shiney hammer I'd venture someone did a bunch of polishing inside as well. She must have a pretty smooth trigger.

Edit: Looked at pics first and then read the posts. Guess that "someone" is you....nice work!

Thanks everyone. Sorry Jack, didn't know that commenting on the new stuff was verboten. Wife and I will be at the range Sat am for some practice. I love the feel of the gun with the Houges, but it just dosent't look as good, so.....................I grabbed a nice pair of grips from Classic Firearms and parts and screwed them on today.

A S&W revolver should be always dressed in it's church clothes.:) Nothing looks better than wood on blue steel to me.

As far as I know, conversations concerning any aspect of S&W firearms and ownership is not forbidden here as long as it's in the correct section and is "family friendly". I for one think the mim parts are the equal of anything that came before, if not superior. Folks resist change, especially old folks. I must include myself in that category. Personally, I feel communications has gone downhill since we stopped using greenwood fires and a wet pony blanket.

Here's my 1970 model 10-8 with 4" bull barrel, just got it Saturday and after shooting it on Sunday it's now my bed gun
