10 shot to 6 or vice versa

Is it possible to convert a 10 shot 617 to a 6 shot? Other than the obvious cylinder what else is required and how difficult a job is it to do? Best reserved for a gunsmith? Cost prohibitive?

You need the appropriate hand and a cylinder. Sometimes it's just trading parts, sometimes a small amount of headspace or cylinder gap fitting is needed.
