100 year old guns.

Within the past few months I have acquired several that date to 1909-1910 to go with the one I already had. Not looking for them, just happened.

I've owned it since the late 1970s and have shot it a lot. It's a hoot.

Have you shot that .375 Nitro Express yet? How bad is the recoil and what do rounds go for in today's market.

Very nice! Shooting guns over 100yrs old is definately a cool experience.

Have an 1894 Krag , with a 1900 cartouche. Either way , it's well over 100 , but still accurate and capable.

The receivers being the most complex and expensive parts of the rifle meant they got reused if in good condition. It's not uncommon to find Krags with an early receiver date built to later model year specs. Bayonet is dated 1900 also.

The oldest one of mine I've ever shot was a 32 Single Action Mod 1 1/2, 2nd issue. I was impressed how well it grouped at 10 yds, in spite of the teeny sights. It is 125 years old, shipped in Aug. 1887.

I find myself gravitating to older guns, and would like to find a decent Damascus barreled SXS preferably in 20 ga. one of these days.

Oh, Hell... I complete forgot about the Krag. Dated 1898 not sure if that's the actual DoM or just the model.

On the C&H 375- Ammo is long out of print for this. Strictly a load your own proposition. Cases are generally not available but 30-40 Krag cases can be used to make short versions or full length cases can be formed from 405 Winchester brass. Top load with a 270 is about 2200 FPS so it has some oomph but the rifle is fairly heavy with a thick recoil pad. I usually load 260 grain lead slugs at about 1800 FPS.
