The other day I was cleaning my 4013/4010 and a 4516-2 and wondered if the 4010 slide would go on the 4516-2 frame and it did. Of course the mags won't work so then I thought, how about putting the 4010 slide on my 1066 frame. What do you think? Will it shoot? Sure would look cool. If I get positive responses, there will be pictures.

Both the 1013 and 1066 mags have tabs on the sides that prevent them from being inserted into frames other than what they were intended to be fitted. The tabs on the 1013 mag are located in different locations than the 1066 mags so you can't install a 1066 mag in a 4013/1013 frame. I did cut the tabs off a 1066 mag and use it in the 4013/4010 pistol.
Well, today I will try putting the 4013/1013 slide assembly on the 1066 frame and shoot it.

The 4010 slide assembly did install on the 1066 frame and shot perfect. Very cool pistol, 3 1/2" barrel full size grip 10mm Smith & Wesson. See before and after pics. What shall we call it? After the shooting both guns were returned to their original assembly. Now I need to find a junk 4013 slide assembly and junk 1006 frame and make a dedicated 10?6.
Pics won't upload now, will try latter.

Mitchjt,

The "1013" would probably be called a 1066/1006 SSV.
This might be of some use, it goes back a little over three years ago;

Shortly,
I hope to get back to making more of my Extended Slide Stop Assemblies that work on any Second/Third Generation series by modifying a stock "factory part" [if available].

Extended Slide Stop

He's had my slide stop and cash since April 2013. Have seen neither since.
