Unless it has changed, MO required pistol permits with county sheriffs holding the records.

I have a low opinion of people that leave guns unattended in cars unless they have something at least as secure as a Console Vault.
The usual excuses are 'I didn't think it would happen to me,' 'no problem, it was a cheap gun,' 'we never lock our doors,' 'I don't want to have to take it in the house every night,' etc.
Even if I have to leave a gun in the Console Vault, I disable it.

Seeing how the slide will not go on the frame and most of the parts are there. I would say the felon wasn't running around town at 2300 hrs with a inoperable, in pieces weapon under the seat of his car.

I have personally recovered 2 guns from the same guy at the same time. 1 was missing the striker and the other had the striker in backwards. It does happen, a lot.
