I wish they would start making the 1076 or a newer version of it.

A newer verion of a 1076 would be an M&P in 10mm. It would be nice to have the M&P in 10mm and many are looking forward but S&W has deaf ears.

I will say that the 10xx series of pistols are great. Reliability, accuracy and strength being their strong points.

Only down side to the 10xx series is their weight, with the 1086 being the lightest one I am told. And it's too big and heavy for CCW as far as I am concerned. In plastic I will stick with my Glock 29 10mm for sure, accurate as hell and easy to shoot.

I like the large grips on the glock 20. They fit my hand really well compared to a g22.
Mine shoots fine but it wont outshoot my smith on its best day.

My guess is why my G29 is so good on pins, bottles or combat targets is the grip and flex that keeps recoil down. My 1006 could out shoot my G29 with ease in slow fire trying for tight groups, but rapid fire the G29 would serve me better. A friend tells me it is all about flex of the guns plastic frames, maybe that is part of the reason.

Performance Center 10mm would the way to go. I would like to see a 10 CQB in all stainless and stainless/alloy for concealed carry. The only other modification needed would be the 5906 frame so the double stack magazine could be used. And if I were S&W management, I would do it now and steal some of the thunder from the reincarnated Bren Ten from Vltor.

There is no doubt which is more accurate between the Glock and the Smith. The Smith will shoot circles around the Glock even after installing an aftermarket barrel in the Glock.

The 5906 frame would not be strong enough tho survive any heavy hand loads or lots of factory ammo either in my opinion.

Owning 610 5" and 610-3 6.5" and a G29 I will agree a 610 will out do a G29 on the range off the bench 25 yards, not so sure about the G20. But real combat with fast follow up needed I would say the G20/29 hands down would be better combat gun and is accurate enough I can do 10 rounds in head at 25 yards with the G29 in the time it takes me to do 3 or 4 out of the 6.5" revolver. Never tried the same with the 610 5" yet.

People seem to sell automatic pistols short for accuracy when comparing to revolvers, but the opposite is true. Reason being is barrel and chamber are one unit, but a revo requires a bullet to jump across an air space into a forcing cone as recoil is happening.

PS I own only 22 auto's these days, to much trouble on old knee's and back chasing brass. ;)

I would love a M&P 10mm, liked the 45ACP I had. The Polly frame is the way to go in a bottom feeder to start with, then bring back the 1006 and the 1076 if the M&P takes off and is a good seller.

Would love to have the full sized M&P instead of a G20 that I will probably buy next year.
