I was rummaging through my Model 41 stuff today and realized that I may have a rarity. Most of the Model 41 magazines have a maximum capacity of 10 rounds, but not so this one. It holds 12. According to the SCSW, these mags were introduced in 1992, but the gun control act of 1994 banned mags over 10 rounds, so production on this variation ceased. I'm not sure if production of these "hi-cap" mags ever resumed. I'm guessing they were only made for a couple of years. Anyone have further information on them?

The 12 shot mags are still made and are not rare. Midway has them for $1 less than the 10 shot.

I'd say the rare Model 41 mags are the 5 shot, .22 short mags for the Model 41-1 and the early two piece style with the staked on back. I don't own any of the latter, but I have a couple of the .22 short mags (on the bottom in first photo).

In my opinion, shared by some, the 12 round magazines which are really only “reconfigured” from 10 rounds by changing the follower, are not as reliable as the ten.
So I have reconverted any that I had back to 10. Every once in a while I trip over a red follower and draw a blank while I try to remember where it came from.

I've got two 622's (4" & 6"), one 442 (6"), and a 2206 (6"). I think my magazine count for them is around 15. Over half are 12-round. I've never had a single problem with the 12s, or the 10s for that matter. These guns and their magazines are totally reliable, and I might add, an absolute blast to shoot. Can't say the same for some of the ammo I get. But, such is life!

I also have a 2213, but that's another thing altogether.

No, no rarity here. Enjoy!

I would have to go count them but I would say 3 ten and 5 or 6 twelve rounders. Never had a problem with any of them and the only ammo problem has been accuracy and dud's. Winchester has been fair accuracy for plinking but lot of dud's, and some Remington Goldens that only go the general direction shot and I bought a case of them before trying.

The M-61-3 Escort as some say the gun the 422/6222206/613/2213/2214 came from. It even has the tensioned barrel. Has same take down as the 622 series, cocked indicator on left grip, and had magazine safety that I removed and GREATLY IMPROVED trigger function.

I have 12s and 10s. Never had a problem with the 12s. What's good about the 12s is that if you load to 10 rounds you still have some play in the mag follower and spring. I enjoy bullseye so I load to 5 almost all of the time.
