That's what one enterprising individual thought he was going to sell rifle and pistol primers for at a gun show yesterday. I also saw them priced at $65 and $75 a brick of 1000.

Then there was a dealer with a large amount of reloading supplies and had them for $32.95/1000. He sold out before the end of the day I think. He was trying to limit sales to 2 bricks per customer so everyone had a chance to get some. Tough to do in a crowded show w/ some people trying to come back and make multiple buys.

I managed to find one brick of CCI LR for $20 on a table and a guy that I had done some work for a year or so ago gave me 3 bricks of LR for free. Said he just wanted to get rid of them. A short walk to the truck for those.
Not bad for thinking I wasn't even going there to buy any primers at all at the current prices. I could've used some LR anyway and I guess I'm set for a while.

As for the rest of the show,,didn't buy a thing

There are some idiots out there that will pay it. A few weeks back, I posted a GB auction for 10 boxes of Rem 380 ACP ammo (FMJ) that sold for $460. $46 a box! There are plenty of fools out there with more money than brains.

Good score 2152hq, especially at a gun show.

There was a guy on a local forum who worked up a group buy. I bought 24lbs of Varget and 10,000 SR primers... in hindsight I wish I had tapped into savings to buy more as the prices were pretty good. Oh well, at least I have that coming.

What was I paying for them back in the early 90's?

Was it like $30 per 5000?

I really can't remember, but I bought a bunch.

I went to our local Wallyworld yesterday, the shelves were empty except for some birdshot and rifle ammo like .270 and .30-30. No handgun ammo of any kind. The local shops except one are out of primers, I grabbed 1000 pistol primers for $40.

Here's a link to Closed Auctions on GB for the magazines for the new FNAR rifles:

Little wonder I am having so much trouble getting a few of these from my Distributors for the folks that are buying the rifles from me. The MSRP is $54.69 and yet people are paying $150.00 plus.

s is the Obama Administrations'way to win the "war on guns". The 2nd admendment says we can own guns. DOESNT say anything about AMMO!!

Well at some point Obama and his gun grabbing ilk could back door us with restricting/taxing ammo.
The current shortage is of course just “us” stocking up.

At the Waukesha show I saw winchester small pistol at $400.00 for a 5000. Someone bought them.

Ok, my ammo and componets are worth more then my guns, and I'm getting more than a little paranoid.

Attended the local gun show yesterday...what was interesting is that usually, there are no more than 2 to 3 dedicated ammo vendors. Guys that sell ammo only. This show, there were a lot of vendors that were selling ammo (5.56mm. 9mm, .308, etc,) along with their usual stuff.

Also, I noticed an article in the Wall St. Journal last week where a lot of financial advisors are telling their customers to invest in guns and ammo instead of their 401ks. One of the finance guys stated that you could easily double your investment in ammo within 1-2 months.

Regards,

Dave

Well I went over to the table 3 times to make sure I wasn't mistaken the tag said 400 and i asked and was told that was the price.

Alot of the ammo sellers were what i considered high but people were buying, and some walk ins were bringing in ammo to sell.
