here is my "nice" 13-1. trying to pin date closer than 75 or 76. also any thoughts on price for a 6 down the pipe, original box and all the papers.gun is strong 90% or better. thanks guys, skip serial #D795-xxx

Try S&W Customer Service, they may be able to narrow down the date of birth for you. 1-800-331-0852 (Catalog not much help)

Late 1975 or early 1976 is about the best guess you can make. If you want it "pinned down" you will need to purchase a letter from Mr. Jinks through the S&W Historical Foundation. The cost is now $75.

A call to "Customer Service" will be a complete waste of your time. Those folks don't have access to shipping records and their track record of giving accurate information on any guns made before last week is terrible.

D750,001 – D870,000………Late 1975 – Early 1976(manufacture)
I don't think you would have any problem finding a buyer in the $600-$700 range. Maybe a little more. I've seen some 13s in lesser condition without box and paperwork priced around $500.
