I have a chance to buy a 1975 14-3.
Asking price is $500.00. It comes with original box
and paperwork. Also has original grips. Don't know about the tools.
My question is...Is the gold lettering original???

Sorry...wrong forum....Noob here.

Probably gold highlighter crayon. It will come off with cleaning.

14-3

Purchased a 14-3 last year for $450.00 with box.
No gold lettering. The 14-3 is a super accurate shooter. You will not be disappointed.

Thanks for the reply. Never saw the gold lettering on a 14-3.
maybe it'll wear off.

I shot it yesterday...It is very accurate. I like it, so I may have to buy it....Real nice shooter.

This was kind of a fad in the late 50's and early 60's and commercial "gold fill" product were common. All can be removed with acetone and it will not hurt either bluing or nickle finish's. Others used crayon, typing "white out", and even paint. Acetone will remove most all of them.
