14-3 S/A Information Please

I have a 14-3 I'm thinking of selling. I bought the pistol 1/24/74 and have a receipt and box paperwork, but like a dummy, I lost the box during one of my moves.

It has the 3T's and would be 100% except it has the cylinder turn line. I bought it to shoot Bullseye Centerfire and never used the wood target grips. I have them installed now.

My question is...would I be better off getting a factory letter verify the 3T's and single action? And how much and where do I write to?

Check out the FAQ at the top of the forum. You will find your answer to getting a letter there and will learn a bunch of other things.

Personally I think the letter is a must for value in this case, so many were changed after their mfg. True SA's seem to bring a premium.

I agree with Flint Ridge. This is one of those exceptions to the advice about getting a letter on a later, model-marked gun. This is especially the case when you don't have the box marked SA. I don't know that these draw much of a premium, but whatever there is, won't be coming if you don't have proof it shipped this way. As he said, there were just too many that were converted post-factory.
Here are photos of two that I have. Both are Model 14-3. One is shown with its letter. The other is a recent acquisition for which I don't have a letter yet. But the box on it is clearly marked SA, as you can see.
