So the first Masterpiece I obtained 10 years ago is a 14-1 from 1961. The second and third one are both 5-screw guns from 1949 and 1950. Several months ago I decided that my collection was really in need of a 3-screw. Found one on GB a week or so ago that did not have the best pictures, but it looked pretty good, and there were no bids. I placed an opening bid on the gun and when the auction ended there was still only one bid on it.

The gun was delivered to my door this morning and when I got the package opened and unwrapped, I was more than happy, to say the least. I honestly do not think this gun has ever been fired outside the factory. It still had a generous amount of nearly congealed factory protectant. There is not a hint of firing on the recoil shield or the cylinder. Not a single mark on the entire gun. You have to look really hard to even see the slightest turn line.

It is a Model 14-2 that shipped in September, 1965. No extras, just the gun. Now I guess I will have to start looking for a 4-screw K-22 Masterpiece to fill in that hole. Seems like I always find a reason to buy more...

Couple of pics of the 14-2 and a pic of of three of them.

Great find, and with the diamond grips! Those 14s are hard to beat when shooting at a 10 about this size.

Very nice trilogy,

And a LERK one liner ,
And a satin wide rib 6"
And a polished narrow rib 6"
And a 5" narrow and wide rib,
And of course a 4" 14-2 Hanen
And a 4" 14-3 wide rib
And a 14-6, full underlug 4" and 6"
And a PC Heritage 14 in blue and case color
And might as well start picking up 15's, ok and 18's, and while youre at it 16's and then youre done.
Wait 19's are kinda related , so okay 19's then your done...
Warning:
Slippery Slope ahead.

Yes, I have been on this "Slippery Slope" for quite a few years now. It never stops. I just wanted a nice copy of the 5-screw, 4-screw, 3-screw variations. When I started this madness, I only wanted one each of the blue K-frame target sight revolvers...14, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19. Now I have S&W revolvers from 1865 through 1989. Tip ups, top breaks, M, I, J, K, N frames. There are still lots and lots of "holes" that could be filled.
