Brought home an 8 3/8" model 14-3 last week. Bought it from a deceased friend's estate from his widow who dislikes guns ....... $250 and that was their asking price ......... to me it was a no dicker sticker.

The revolver has muzzle blueing wear on both sides ...... a bit of a gouge on the underside at the muzzle and a faint turn line. Very tight and shoots minute of golf ball with various factory ammo .......

I can see I am going to be handloading a goodly bit of .38 now ......... LOL!

The gun has a SN of 3K 919XX

It's been over 30 years that I have been lusting for a model 14 ........ glad the wait is over!

You got a really good one in the 14-3 and you got it for a heck of a deal.

That is one heck of a deal. I wouldn't feel guilty, as you paid the price the seller was asking. Your lucky day. I nearly paid twice that plus the cost of factory rework. Still happy. Finally got the proper stocks on it. DSCN1984.jpg

I paid $430 out the door for this one last year.

It came with S&W Magna grips but a great friend offered these grips up which I like a lot better on it.

I'll have to work on the picture thing ........ I have been promising to get that going through many acquisitions that have occured in part because of this forum ........ and well, Smith & Wessons just have that draw don't they??

KLYDE is right, I have no guilt what so ever on the two I bought from these folks. Their asking price. I bought a K-48 about three months ago for $300 and it's a bit sweeter than this K-14 and asked if they lay away the "38" till this about Sept. and they did. They are happy and so am I.

It's a little sad because a good friend of mine and I were going to shepard their dealings on the guns if they had given us time. However the widow wanted the guns ..... GONE! A load room chuck full of stuff too .... my friend got that one and I got first dibs on the stuff he was not into. The late gun owner/husband had no use for his B. in Law and out of these sales ....... he's getting the money ........ Me thinks our old friend is roll over about now!!

With the money going where it shouldn't and not having time to really do this justice, we basically identified what we wanted and did not argue ourselves into paying more for the things we personally wanted. My friend did manage to out perform some of the gun sales he facilitated as in higher prices to the widow in an instance or two.

Also thanks for the replys and the "likes"!

Best regards
