148 years ago today, Geo. Custer made some very poor decisions and we still talk about them today. i was gonna take a ride up to the battlefield today to see what was going on but got occupied with other stuff. Temp. is about 95 today. It dawned on me that the temp that day was over 100 and those troopers had been in the saddle since before daylight with little water and no rest. They and their horses were exhausted before they even got in the fight. Tough way to die.

Old joke, Custer's last thought... Where did all these xxx Indians come from?

Been there twice, in the early 1970's. There is never a good place to die, but that is just desolate!

The cav's Indian scouts warned Custer that LOTS of ponies ate all the grass! But he chose to believe the intel from the Reservation's "Indian Agents" and thought there were less than 500 Braves off the reservation. There were more than 20 times what he was expecting! Bad intel never leads to good things happening!
