PA state police shipped mine to my dealer in Florida since we had moved. Ironically it was the dealer where we originally purchased it. I dd not have to pay shipping, but did have to pay the dealer for transferring it.

The dealer was being an *** for charging you for this. I'd find another dealer.

In my area, dealers are charged for the required background check.

Local pawn shop used to do it for free as well as transfers for residents. All 1100 in town and maybe 3 times that in a 25 mile radius. He retired last year.

He said it was 10 minutes of his time and the call was free so please buy something from the shop occasionally.
