Hey, is there anyone who makes an extended takedown pin for the 15-22? I remember that NDZ used to make them, but it seems they no longer carry them.

Thanks for any help.

I don't believe they found enough people wanting one to justify continuing production. I've got NO finger nails to speak of, but I can still pull out the take-down pins. Push in far enough from the opposite side first.

No, they stopped production under threat of a patent-infringement lawsuit from another manufacturer that produced them first.

Jeffro57, actually I don't NEED it. I can takedown the rifle with no problem with my fingers. Just that my AR has one now and I wanted to keep the clone look going.

Marjorlk, so is that other company still making them? If so, who is it? Thanks.

I seem to remember that it was Yankee Hill, but I can't be positive. Tell you what, I have a set from NDZ that I put on and then immediately took off because I didn't like the projections. Send me $10 and I'll mail them to you.

A few months ago Battle Arms Development came out with their version of take down pins.

When I got my set for my AR15 and saw all of the little improvements they made the first thing I did was to ask if they are going to bring the design over to the 15-22. It has been a little while since we have talked about it, but I think they are in the works. If anyone is interested in it let me know and i'll pass it along.

I'm very interested after watching that video. Going to get a set of those for my M4 immediately.

I'd buy a set of each immediately.

Very nice! I would definitely be interested.
I use there BAD-CASS selectors on my AR and love the quality and attention to detail.

Those are the folks who forced NDZ to stop making extended pins for 15-22s.

I may be wrong (but I don't think so) but AR takedown pins do not work in a 15-22.

i contacted Yankee Hill after Majorlk sold his NDZ pins to

someone else:(......Yankee Hill replied they do not make the

pins for the 1522.......can't see the point in NDZ being stopped from making them,if know one else

is making them for the 1522

Yankee Hill holds the patent on the design; the actual fit is irreverent.

now im confused:o

i thought the 1522 receiver was wider than a normal AR

would that not make the pins too short, so could i use the

Yankee hill take down pins.......or are they a diff dia to the 1522

I am a bit confused now too. I just measured the width of the two receivers at the level of the pins. May be a bit off, but it seems the 15-22 is 1/16" wider. The AR takedown pin will fit inside the hole of the 15-22.

I remember people on the forum saying a while back that they are not compatible so I never tried before. I don't feel like swapping my pin out right now, but I am not sure what the problem is... or if 1/16" really makes that much of a difference that it won't fit?

Curiosity got the better of me.

Ok, I don't know about the pivot pin... because that one is a bit more of a pain to change and I gotta get up early for work.

BUT the AR standard takedown pin will work fine in the 15-22. That leads me to believe that the AR extended takedown pin will work as well. It was a little harder to remove the pin since there wasn't as much sticking out the back, but I could still push the back with my fingertip and pull out the other end with my fingernails.

Now I just gotta find a S&W engraved extended takedown pin :)

The pivot pin? No. It isn't too hard to change it. Still, I don't want to take the chance that I will launch the pivot pin detent and spring across the room just to satisfy my curiosity.
