15-22, Meh...

I don't know guys, but I just have not really warmed up to my 15-22.

So, you got sucked into all the M&P 15-22 hype like me and now regret buying one. Welcome to the club. Except, I really love mine. It's been an excellent shooter with no problems. Not regretting buying it one bit. :D I guess, you're in the minority.

Well, this has certainly turned into a furrball.
When I made this post I knew there'd be some anger and hoped there'd be some honest discussion, it was not my intent to "bash" or impune the 15-22, I was merely stating my personal observations on my particular rifle(s).
Am I in the minority?
Evidently, and I'm glad you guys are happy with your rifles.
Am I completely displeased with mine?
No, it's an OK toy, but to me it's not the greatest firearm I've ever owned.
All I was doing was pointing out the shortcommings as I saw them, and gave an unbiased review of the rifle(s) I personally own.
Sorry I seem to have offended some of you by not praising the platform and marching in lock step with your particular experiences and expectations.
BTW, this is the SECOND of these I have owned, the first was returned to the manufacturer due to the hammer pin walking out.
In MY OPINION, I shouldn't have to do any gunsmithing work to get a NIB rifle to work properly.
The second as I stated, I replaced the hammer in with a real AR hammer to correct the problem rather than go through the whole return policy again.
YMMV

Where did anything even close to the description of that statement come up? Everyone is entitled to their opinions, good or bad. The 15-22 is perfect for some people, not so perfect for others. Me? My 15-22 is perfect for what it is, an AR style rifle that is relatively low-cost to shoot, and has never let me down. Does it mean I won't have other .22's? No, I plan on getting another .22 rifle sometime in the future, and I already have a .22 revolver. To me, this thread is a good example of how each person has had different experiences with theirs.

(1) nobody's angry.
(2) most of us just pointed out that your experience/conclusions were in conflict with what most of us have experienced.
(3) several advised that if you were unhappy, sell it!
(4) no one said it was the greatest firearm they have ever owned.
(5) it can't be all that bad, since you bought a second one. :)
(6) please point out what was dishonest.

Some people just DO like to start a furball, I guess. :D

I didn't buy a second one, I had my first one replaced under warranty since the hammer pin kept walking out.
And yeah, the second one that I currently have did the same thing, that's why I replaced the hammer.
The pin retaining spring in the 15-22 hammer was weak and would let the pin slip out.
That certainly didn't do much to endear me to it!
And maybe "Angry" was too strong a word, however there is at least a little irritation in some of these post (mine included).

More importantly, you have 2 complete rifles instead of 1 and 1/2. This was the selling point for me rather than a dedicated .22LR upper for my AR-15.

Hehe, until you end up buying a lower and building it up to stay with the dedicated .22LR upper.

Guilty.

And love it.

My mistake. I misread your original post. Any "irritation" is in the eye of the reader. :)

I never took it that way, and I didn't think anyone seemed offended, really. Sorry if any of us came off that way. It is difficult to get a good "read" on someone, over the "Intarwebs", being a complex series of tubes, and all.

I think I can speak for all of us when I write, "We're not mad at ya, buddy!" :)

I think that we can all agree on one thing, though. Everyone should have a Ruger 10/22.
