Good Evening Ladies and Gents,

I picked up a M&P 15-22 MOE in FDE a few weeks ago and after about 750 rounds through it I am looking for something new already!

Two questions for the members here, what do you think a reasonable resale value is...Private Party or Trade. I paid $640 for it OTD including taxes and fees. Is $450-500 reasonable?

Also, I'm located in New Jersey and wondering if anyone has had success reselling guns here/ the process you used for doing so given our strict laws.

Any feedback you can provide is greatly appreciated and helpful!

Thanks-Chris

that sounds like a good price to me for a gun that usually costs a lot more and is barely used.

My local store had them for $479, when I got mine (in black). So /I/ wouldn't pay that much, but I'm not in NJ.

Sounds a little high to me. There's a brand new one listed on Gunbroker right now with a buy it now price of $499.95 with $20 shipping. This same gun has been on there for a while (I've been watching) and hasn't sold which tells me that there aren't any buyers at $520 delivered for a new gun. I'm tempted but would have resisted so far. If it doesn't sell this time I may give them a call and see what they'll take. I wouldn't pay more than $425 delivered for a near perfect used one.

Happy Hump Day!

I don't believe that it's an MOE. It has an MOE stock but not the MOE sights & grip. Also, the seller doesn't indicate that the gun is NIB.

I'm looking at item # 303411912. It came up in a search for 811035 and the seller describes it as "...a BRAND NEW and hard to find Smith & Wesson M&P15-22 MOE tactical .22lr rifle in the Flat Dark Earth (FDE) finish! This super hard to find model features Magpul MOE collapsible stock, MOE grip, Magpul MBUS flip-up sights, QD Sling Swivel Attachment Point, and FDE colored magazine and rail covers!" I would think that, barring gross fraud, it is an MOE.

That's not the one that I looked at. Do a search for 15-22 MOE on GB and it will come up. I would post the auction number but it's against the forum rules to post numbers of live auctions.

Thanks for the feedback guys.. I'm willign to part with it for around $500 at this point so I think I'm going to swing by my local shop tomorrow and see what they would offer in terms of trade value or cash purchase (I'm anticipating a haircut!).

I have seen FDE's NIB around here for $575. And speaking from exp. , unless you deal with one certain shop all the time, you are not going to get anything close to $500. Used firearms are always a gamble, " I only shot it 4 times" is one I have heard. Personally watched (range safety officer) a guy blow thru about 1500 rounds on sat and a week later tried to trade it in saying only shot 200 rounds. Not knowing the true use and or abuse of a firearm really can drive the price down. That said , the mark-up on used guns in a gun shop can be crazy high. The owner of the shop has to make a profit somewhere.

just like a car, you're generally going to get more selling it privately.

This item was sold Thanks for everyone who has been sending messages.
