I've had mine for about 9 months and have posted here about it before. Round count is probably north of 4000-5000. I don't know that I ever checked the S/N prefix. I do know I have only had a hand full of FTF in that round count and attribute it to ammunition. I use Federal 550 bulk exclusively in all my .22's.
I bought the 15-22 after seeing a friend's at our club. He was having trouble and ended up sending it back twice to S&W. I throughly enjoy mine and we now have at least 8 at out local club.
I would reccomend the 15-22 to anyone wanting a .22cal AR. I'm also looking to buy the SIG 522 as soon as the NJ complient model arrives at a local dealer.
By the way, I'm in the B column.
well, after much reading and much research @ s/n #'s and early editon DTX problems. i ordered one 8811032 15-22 and ended up with the DTX prefix. the gun finally arrived early this week, 'cuz the dealer misplaced my order. my ffl guy has it now and i still need to complete the paperwork and 10 day wait. after all that i still end up w/a DTX?! many with this s/n have been rock solid, others ick. should i just send it to the factory when i get it?![]()
