There are a few different options as far as the internal baffle setup goes, as well as budget limitations (if any) Lots of options out there though! Figure out which one you'd prefer to have (to clean)
Youtube has a ton comparison/info videos to help guide to your choice.

There are also lots of writeups on them..

Research what you think you might like, then go to your LGS and talk to them. See what they suggest and how it compares to what you're coming up with. Most shops can get what you want, even if they don't carry your chosen can. The shop I went to had several brands to choose from. I ended up with a Silencer Co Spectre II. https://www.silencershop.com/silencerco-spectre-ii.html

Remember that you might need a thread spacer on some to keep the can from bottoming out on the barrel threads. I've got one on mine.

Once you choose it, walk thru the paperwork with the LGS. Then forget about the purchase all together. One day you'll get a call out of the blue, and be surprised you've got a present waiting there for you to pick up!
(I don't know what the current wait time is, but mine was right at 9 months back in 16-17)

There's a great page that kinda charts the process others have gone thru as well, which might give you an idea of the current times. NFA Transfer Time Tracking NFA Reviews Form 1 Form 4 Tracking

Hope this is more helpful than overwhelming!

No problem! I'm just glad I could help someone. I still feel like a complete amateur when I read some posts on here. The amount of knowledge some of our members have about S&W guns and associated topics is amazing!

If you have any other questions, feel free to send me a PM.

I run an AAC Element 2, Halcyon and a Silencerco Switchback. All great options on the 15-22 for discreetly shooting squirrels in the urban backyard.

Same basic internal k baffle designs but the Halcyon is modular obviously. The Halcyon baffles are titanium and updated to shielded and indexed so they are easier to clean. If you can find an Element 2 cheaper and don't care about modularity I'd recommend that as I've never had an issue taking apart and knocking the crust off the stainless unshielded baffles but if it's not a big price difference the Halcyon is a great update on a solid can design.

I run it with my DeadAir MaskHD and with CCI SV it feels like hammer smacking the firing pin and action cycling are louder than the report.

Thank you for advise - I guess titanium buffers get me interested :) I will get Halcyon - this look like the nice option.

I use a Surefire Ryder. The one I have has stainless guts that can be pulled from the can and cleaned. I shot 200 rounds through it yesterday. I'm very satisfied with it. I use it on my AR 15-22 and my M&P .22. Indoors without hearing protection is not dangerous but of course I wear protection because of everyone else at my range.
