$15 An Hour

I was wondering how that one day strike went.

I haven't been to a fast food place in months. Every time I think about going, I think, "Man, it's going to cost a lot! Why pay that much when I can make something better?"

If the $15/hr min wage goes through, I will not be going any more. Not because I don't want someone to make that much, but I just can't rationalize paying the prices it will require to support that wage for such a low value product. Maybe we should be investing in vending machines.

Most have minimum skills, minimum education, minimum motivation, give minimum effort so what have they done to earn a raise that would double their salary? When I was a minimum wage worker and decided I needed more, I learned a skill that was worth more than the minimum wage and when I needed health insurance I looked for a job that offered it as a benefit. I must have been a genius to figure all that out by myself.

Nothing political about this, just pure economics.

Have you ever figured what the average hourly,, pay is for a person that has held a job raised a family paid taxes, paid to put someone through collage and is now living off social security & a small pension.GO figure .
Do you want your burger gov.supported?

If you cannot put a napkin in the sack and position the french fry container in the UPRIGHT position in this sack, why would anyone pay you fifteen bucks an hour, much less 15 bucks a day? OK I feel better now.

I'm fairly certain that flicking a switch to
turn on the French Fryer was never meant to be
a career choice.

College ^^^^^^^^^ just sayin....

When I was 15 I started working for less that the minimum wage because it was "farm labor." At the end of the first day I had figured out the job and was as productive as the 50 year old I was working with. It was a career job for him - but not for me.

People don't want to admit that labor is a commodity that the employer buys. When the price of a commodity is too high - the demand goes down.

Let's face it,these people wouldn't understand Basic Economics if it walked up, shook their hand and offered them a calling card. These people are either:

a) Illegal,
b) Illiterate,
c) barely employable,
d) convicted felons, or
e) semi-retired and living on a partial pension.

Some are intelligent, many are "climbing their way up the ladder". Some are not the brighest bulb in the package and will go no further in their lives. These particular individuals aren't worth $15.00 per hour.

They are going to "price themselves right out of employment".

Sounds successful to me... NOT!
